Portal Systems

For the complete communication of a worldwide operating enterprise in the run-up of a large exhibition X-CELL COMMUNICATIONS established an online platform which provides rights and role-based information and innovative functionalities for employees, customers and press.

Thus potential customers were able to inform themselves about the fair itself, events, products and contact persons of our client at any time. Existing customers additionally had the possibility to register for the exhibition, to directly conduct online bookings as well as to make appointments.
Employees have access to the most actual project and booking information and are able to add bookings or update schedules at any time (for instance hotel and conference rooms, restaurant tables, event tickets etc.)

The further development of the portal with considerably extended functionalities for later events and exhibitions emphasizes the cost and time reduction that has been accomplished through the consequent use of the system.

X-CELL is responsible for setting up the new intranet of Sony Germany. After building a complex technical infrastructure consisting of Portal Server and Content Management System flexible workflows have been established making it easy for content administrators to keep the site actual.

Offering Single-Sign-On (SSO) based on top of a common directory service Sony employees may quickly access personalized and individualized portal pages as well as other Intranet applications.

For an international pharmaceutical company, we created an extensive extranet application that is used to book and manage hotel reservations all round the world for congresses and events.

Thanks to the fact that the application is fully personalised, the flow of information can be channelled efficiently and in real time. The system not only plays a key role in generating considerable savings in terms of internal process costs and agency costs, but it also increases the process reliability in an enterprise-critical area thanks to in-depth reports and a tracking module, which offers access at all times to any form of historical data.

X-CELL recently set up a web portal for the 'SÜDBUND', a marketing-oriented union of medium-sized service providers for textiles, which considerably enhances the communication, data exchange and the entire order process (by involving the suppliers) between members and within the union.

The portal features following core functionalities:

  • Comprehensive information about advertising and design guidelines
  • Integration of an extensive shop/e-procurement system for comfortably ordering the entire product and service spectrum of the union
  • Provision of a tool for building ads making it easy on every system user to interactively compose and publish an individual advertisement with the help of a comprehensive text and image library
  • Role-based contact management module allowing for optimized communication between union, members and suppliers

X-CELL COMMUNICATIONS further implemented a web portal for a well-known international corporate group that should be utilised within the scope of an exhibition. Being used as customer relationship management tool this portal enabled our client to tightly communicate with its customers prior to the fair.

Apart from information about the fair and its location the portal was used as virtual exhibition invitation. Moreover a personalized booking system allowed employees and customers to conduct numerous bookings (for instance event tickets, conference and hotel rooms, meetings etc.).

Web-based follow up arrangements additionally contributed to the fair’s great success.

The aim of the intranet application conceived for the Baxter Healthcare Corporation pharmaceutical group was to boost efficiency in the handling of internal processes and accelerate internal communication.

The application we devised minimises the internal paper trail and cuts back on time spent thanks to the extensive digitisation of forms. It also increases the productivity of employees at all levels, thanks to real-time information.

X-CELL COMMUNICATIONS developed an exhaustive product presentation system which served as information pool for our client’s customers on two booths during a major important exhibition.

Beside the preparation and integration of numerous multimedia-based company and product information into a self-developed web-based e-Kiosk system it was easily possible to quickly and reliably track and process customer inquiries.

X-CELL provides the training arm of our partner agency AWZ with a training portal that offers the entire portfolio of courses, together with up-to-date information and services.

An extranet connected to this portal provides facilities for booking and managing seminars, including delegate management and statistics functions. The customer also uses the extranet intensively to efficiently manage its own seminars. In a further expansion phase, the portal is to be extended by a module designed to offer the simple, web-based design of training units.

An innovative retail information system was created for our customer Sony Germany.

Sales staff in the stores use an offline client to capture data on sales, advice and training courses. This data is then collated in an extranet system and evaluated. The customer can thus access day-to-day reports directly. The system is also used in the recruitment and training of sales staff.

For our customer Keuter property management, X-CELL developed a real estate portal that contains both the latest offers in the "For Sale" and "To Let" sectors and numerous sources of information and services for Keuter's existing customers.

An extranet application offers fast and reliable direct access to all the required documentation, including ancillary cost invoices and so on. With this solution, Keuter not only demonstrates a proven focus on its customers, but is also able to reduce its internal process costs by simplifying and digitising its workflow.

The Düsseldorf Marketing-Club's website acts as a platform for internal and external communication.

Club members have a personal password, giving them access to a protected area containing internal information, a directory of members and so on. The site also provides innovative offers for advertising companies: in addition to the posting of banners, interested customers can also present their companies in the form of a 'store front'. Members enter up-to-date content via an editorial system. This tool is particularly easy, quick and intuitive to use.

In May 2004, the design was modernised and added to with a campaign site celebrating the Club's 50 th anniversary.

A website to attract investors, the press and public was developed on behalf of the RGG development company for the new Ratingen suburb of BalckeDürrStadt.

Multiple webcams provide the latest pictures of how the building is progressing. The resulting images are automatically collated to form films and thus form a unique type of documentation.
